Best Suited For Electric Smokers - GOOD, BAD, LIMITS

3 months of weekly use. GOOD: - Multi-colored balls on cables and probes are great for remembering what goes with which probe. - Bluetooth works for me. I don't need a great distance, so at 40ft I had no problems - the panel is large and readable, and it works even if Bluetooth is turned off along the way. I can read it through the window from 20 feet away. Fantastic customer service. I had one sensor that was off 4 degrees Fahrenheit (used a professional temperature sensor to test both sensors). The seller sent me a replacement VERY quickly. The quality of the probe and cable is MUCH more durable than other Revain devices. I love how the probe cord wraps around and secures the cord with a colored bead. The Android app was easy to install and works flawlessly. BAD: - Seller says probe cords should NOT be submerged in liquid. - One of my two probes has deviated a few degrees. Ultra-fast free probe replacement made this a minor issue. LIMITATIONS: - Be sure to read other reviews regarding the limited range of the Bluetooth connection. - I HATE electronic smokers that you can't LEAVE OUT IN THE RAIN. Many new electric/electronic smokers have electronic failures, especially when not smoked in rainy weather. The cost of repairing these built-in electronics is typically $100-$150. I HATE driving my smoker to and from the garage, so I decided to go with a non-digital, non-electronic smoker. My smoker stays outside and I just take this Chugod thermometer inside with me when I'm not using it. When it rains and snows, I leave my smoker on the patio under the grill shed all year round - very practical.
