. to protect my truck's paintwork and keep the bow of the kayak safe. This is a decent if basic product that offers points to attach my boat's lines to the front of the car. They allow me to position the lines where I want and prevent the rope or straps from rubbing against my see-through raincoat. I took off a star because the rubber hoses that attach these hinges to my car didn't keep things from sliding towards the back of the engine bay, presumably from the wind. All I had to do was get some zip ties and find a spot on the edge of my engine bay to attach these straps to keep them from sliding around. I'm only deducting one star for the simple solution. I would also buy them again if the need arose as once protected they work great.
