I easily found a place to put them

When I first opened them I was shocked at their size and thought they would never fit under the hood of my SUV. I was wrong. I easily found a place to put them. I used them for a 300 mile trip (one way) to tie down two kayaks. The wind was blowing at 30+ mph and I was riding at 75. I had no problems with them.

Pros
  • Nice to use
Cons
  • Nothing here

Great solution with little modification

I have a Subaru Outback and have found that the strap doesn't fit the tailgate very well and needs a little modification to fit the door well. I used a hacksaw to cut the length to size and found this did the job very well. The front hood was perfect and required no modification.

Pros
  • Test for one year
Cons
  • Lots of stuff

Great idea, good for watersports

We don't have tow hooks on our Ford and were looking for a way to secure the bow and stern of our kayak. We managed to secure them under the hood at the front of the car and we put them into the clips in the back of our SUV's trunk and closed the lid. Then we tied our bow and stern lines to secure them. Worked great, easy fix and way better than trying to get on the bottom to protect our boats.

Pros
  • Pretty packaging
Cons
  • unreliable

Great solution for the 2018 Highlander LE

With the possible exception of the front battery mount and the spare tire mount under the rear wheels, the 2018 Toyota Highlander LE does not have good front and rear mounting options. These Propel hinges fit securely into small cutouts molded into the radiator shroud and behind the edge of the rubber trunk mat. So far they have provided strong and convenient attachment points, have not interfered with the hood or tailgate, and have not been exposed to engine heat.

Pros
  • Decent performance
Cons
  • Some bugs

Good things just don't last anymore.

I've used them many times to transport my canoe and kayak on short trips to the local lake and across the state. For the most part they held up, but on the last trip, when I was about to load the canoe, I noticed that some of the stitching had torn. They have been delaying bringing the canoe home but until I can fix or replace them I will be shelving them and going back to my old solution with a piece of radiator hose and nylon rope. A bit disappointed but could just be a bad set. Hope yours…

Pros
  • Lots of good vibes
Cons
  • Quality

Brilliant idea for tying

Brilliant idea for an easy way to tie the ends of a kayak to the car. Simply open the trunk lid or bonnet, place the rubber end so the loop rests on the fender, then close the bonnet or trunk. I've found that if I leave the included black rope tied in a knot, the end of the loop weighs more and is easier to hold in place while I hold the other and close the trunk. That's a great idea. They are cheap and eliminate the need to crawl on the ground looking for a place to tie down a kayak. I use…

Pros
  • Few competitors
Cons
  • Communication with seller

Good idea. in sports

. to protect my truck's paintwork and keep the bow of the kayak safe. This is a decent if basic product that offers points to attach my boat's lines to the front of the car. They allow me to position the lines where I want and prevent the rope or straps from rubbing against my see-through raincoat. I took off a star because the rubber hoses that attach these hinges to my car didn't keep things from sliding towards the back of the engine bay, presumably from the wind. All I had to do was get…

Pros
  • This is amazing
Cons
  • Reliability
