I bought this product primarily to know when to change the media in my Rodi filtration system, but I have also used it to test our tap water, fridge filter water and water in our Brita jug. All readings are reasonable: tds of 0 ppm for commercial distilled water, 0-1 ppm for rhodium filtered water, about 320 ppm for tap water, and about 220 ppm for filtered refrigerator water. The water in the Brita-Krug contained almost 350ppm - higher than unfiltered tap water - even though the filter life stated by the manufacturer was not yet over. Changing the filter in the jar lowered the reading to 248ppm. The temperature readings match those of a reef aquarium thermometer. Provided that the meter lasts a long time, this is an excellent value.
