Review on Sumnacon 220 Degree Peephole Rotating Privacy Hardware by Brian Whitmore

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Small nice upgrade with minimal effort

I am a single woman living alone. I try to do my best to keep my home secure using strong locks, motion sensors, light from dusk to dawn, etc. I've had a peephole in my front door for quite some time, but I'd be looking for some sort of cover for a while. When you knock on someone's door, you may have noticed that you can tell immediately when someone is on the other side because you can see their shadow when they look through the peephole. I don't want the person outside to always know I'm on the other side of the door, and that helps with that. This also means that no one can see through the door. I also like that this brand in particular didn't have a big logo on the inner lid as I wanted it to blend into the door as much as possible. In terms of installation, this peephole was slightly larger than my old one. I'm a pretty handy girl and the best thing I've found to solve this problem is a cheap nail file that fits around the edges of the hole and enlarges it a bit by moving my elbows ever so slightly until the new eyelet fits perfectly. I don't have a storm door or porch, so I applied some clear caulk around the opening on the outside of the door, then installed a new peephole and screwed it in, then wiped off the excess. Very easy!
