Almost, but not quite
The gap between the inside and outside of the squeezer allows the juice to remain in the lemon/lime and the handles close on the ends until squeezing is complete (similar to pliers whose handles touch before the pinched end is compressed). I've found myself just using my arms instead of abs. Unfortunately a waste of $. I would return it if I didn't wait too long to at least try once it arrived.
