I have several 2 year old (5 gallon) gas bottles that I bought at Wall-Mart that I use to store gas in the generator shed in case of an emergency. I change the gas every 6 months to keep it fresh. During the last turn I noticed that all the seals were worn out. It was the perfect replacement for Zepter gas cartridges. Now that I know that gasoline will corrode these seals I added some silicone grease to them in hopes that it would extend their life.
