In theory this is a great product. I want this to work for me. I have two 200GB Western Digital drives installed. One was already NTFS formatted and the other was brand new. He has successfully formatted both into his own format system. I set it up as a mirror drive system. I copied (DO NOT MOVE) my most important files and photos to it. My files were/are working on my Dell server with a Compaq RAID 5 array - too much power and cooling. Well, about a day later, the mirror disappeared and is said to have never existed. You cannot add a mirror drive, it must be configured from the start. The mirrored "lost" drive showed that it had been formatted and had no space left on it. I couldn't reformat it. I took it to my XP machine and reformatted it to NTFS. I was ready to break the whole Netgear "toaster" and start over, but now it no longer formatted the NTFS drive in its own formatting system like the first time. I lost almost two days playing with this thing, wrapped it up and sent it back to Revane. This is very bad as it is one of the few NAS devices that comes empty and uses EIDE drives instead of SATA.
