Not sure if this is a limitation of this particular product or the USB-C spec itself, but there is a little quirk to make this work properly. For this to work, the adapter and cables must be oriented a certain way at both ends. If they are, then it works great. If not, it's like a dead wire. I specifically use it to connect a short USB-C to Lightning cable (thanks Apple for making the dream of a one-cable future come true!) to a longer USB-C cable, and it works great as long as I plug it in right. . I just marked the correct orientation of the two ends of both cables as well as the adapter itself to make sure I plugged it in correctly. 4 stars because it works. As if.
