We bought this because our puppy loves to jump off the couch and we were concerned it might hurt his joints. Now he uses these steps to climb onto the couch and then jump off. He also likes to play a game where he brings his ball to the couch and pushes the ball with his nose to make it roll down the stairs. Then he runs after him and starts all over again. Overall we (including our pup) are very happy with the purchase. It's a beautiful, understated design that doesn't take up much space or disrupt the decor. The ladder is also very light and easy to move. This is a soft but durable gently curving design better suited to four-legged creatures, as opposed to "traditional" stages.
