Review on 🐶 High-Quality Heavy Duty Spool - 14 Gauge Electric Dog Fence Wire - Durable 44 MIL Polyethylene Insulation for All In-Ground Pet Containment Systems by Tanya Smith

The best wire for the radio collar fence.

I bought this and used it to fence a radio shock collared dog in the ground and over an existing wire fence fenced in just under an acre. It arrived within 2 days as expected. The product was great, no problems, consistent length on the roll. At the time of purchase I found 1000 feet 14 ga. Outdoor solid core wire is a little cheaper on specialized wire sites, but with Prime and free 2-day shipping (1000ft spool, 14ga heavy) this was the best option. The hardware stores I checked only carried 500 feet of shelves, and I didn't check the electronics stores. Thicker insulation and wire are much stronger than 18-22 ga. included in a dog collar kit I bought and is better rated for UV exposure which lasts longer in my application. The taller gauge allowed me to walk a full 1000 feet around the property fence (90 degrees around the corner posts and through the trees) since I didn't want to dig trenches and dig 1000 feet, especially with tree roots all over the place. At the beginning of my fence I put the dowel in a spool which I then placed on top of the open box to spin freely, I tied a loop at the end of the pull and leaned towards the pull (note: when you start, move, don't do it). do not stop). I tie the top of the existing T-post/wire fence around the property and bury the wire at the gate with a PVC sleeve from the top of the fence to the ground for weed/wear and tear protection. If you're pulling long distances with some friction/drag, need a more durable alternative to a regular cable set, or need better UV protection for your cable, use this one.
