like a windshield mount. And when they say sticky, they're not kidding. This thing sticks to the point where it's almost impossible to remove. It's like there's glue on it, but it's not. I've tried four or five Garmin mounts and all have failed. Also, at some point, I've gone to my car with everyone on a hot or cold day to install a mount on the dash. Not this one. I've read other reviews that said the ball end was a little small and loose for a Garmin mount, but mine fits snugly and snugly. There is no whore at all. But maybe for those who are loose, a little ribbon wrapped around the ball can help. The range of motion of this particular mount is really good, no matter how tilted your windshield is, it will adjust to any position you want. I've had an Arkon mount for a Sirius/XM portable radio for a long time and am very happy with it, so I figured if this mount was as good as this one, I would be too. And I'm satisfied. If after two Arkon mounts I ever need a windshield mount again, the Arkon will be it.
