The cooler is indeed very, very quiet; at maximum speeds, the cooler becomes audible, but in reality it doesn’t reach them - even at 100% load on the processor, the cooler copes with 1200 rpm, where it is still quiet. The cooler is very powerful; by the way, this is the only inexpensive cooler with 4 heat pipes that cover the entire processor cover. I have an AMD FX-8320 - that stove, 125W! the usual radiator IH-3075 did not cope at all, in idle it reached 60 degrees, and the noticeable noise from it annoyed me. But S40 radically changed the picture! at idle 30 degrees, under 100% load (LINPACK) it does not rise above 52. Now the computer is almost inaudible! (Vidyukha rustles louder and the cooler blows) About the dimensions: this is the maximum cooler that I could fit into a regular case 180mm wide (4-5mm more to the wall). I also considered the IH-4300 as an option, but it only has three heat pipes. I left my own thermal paste, which was applied to the base - it copes well; at least not worse than KPT-8. There is no reobas in the kit, but it is not needed, because. the cooler is slow initially. Adviсe: 1) for AMD processors - screw the frame to the radiator so that the latch is on the side of the chipset, then the PSU or case cover will not interfere; 2) the cooler weighs more than 0.6 kg, motherboards are not designed for such weight, and if your case is standing vertically, it is better to slightly pull the cooler radiator to the "ceiling" of the case through a small spring. no need to pull hard, it is enough to remove part of the cooler's weight from the motherboard; 3) if you set the speed control with utilities like EasyTune, then set the dependence as flat as possible, then the cooler will work imperceptibly (I have 10%RPM=30deg, 100%RPM=100deg); 4) put a small quiet fan (at least 80mm) blowing out of the case, preferably opposite the S40 Thanks to DEEPCOOL for such a great development!
