Decent hydration pack

Nathan Vaporairess is a decent hydration pack. I was looking for a good backpack for my longer runs and upcoming Spartan races. However, when I first used this hydration pack during a fast 10k run, my lower back hurt! I've never had back problems. Even with other hydration packs, weight vests etc but after removing the pack my lower back was killing me for hours. I tried running 5 miles again when my back got better just to see if it would happen again and my lower back hurt again. I am 34B, 29 years old, in very good health and very fit. I ordered a small/medium size but I feel it is too small due to my muscles around my shoulders. If I didn't have muscles it would probably fit perfectly. I have an athletic build and broad shoulders. Pros: I love the front chest straps and how easy they are to adjust. I like the magnetic part for the water hose. It stayed in place throughout the run and was very easy to use and put back in after a quick drink. Loved the side and back pockets. My large phone fits nicely in the front water bottle pocket. The bladder was nice and easy to fill. Cons - the water bounced around a lot and I had to keep adjusting the pack and pulling it down the front as it kept sliding up. I think that's why my lower back hurt when I had to adjust my backpack. The bubble bag is open, no button or zipper or anything else to close the bag which I found strange. I personally want to make sure I have some sort of pocket that closes for my bladder so it doesn't slide out if something happens. I wish the backpack was a little lower. It seemed very high on my chest and back which slightly pinched my armpits near my armpits. I like to wear tank tops when I run, but they rubbed my armpits a bit when I ran, so I had to put the shirt on a second time and it didn't irritate. Maybe that was because he seemed too small. Overall I see this as a decent hydration pack for hiking, but I don't think it's the right pack for running and long-distance racing, especially for a woman. Almost no design or fit. The price seemed a bit high for this type of hydrator.

Pros
  • Good product for the price
Cons
  • Poorly thought out
