I have the 5 port option. Works right out of the box, put a couple of large drives in and they ran with no fuss. Drive-to-drive or computer-to-drive transfer speeds are as expected, not terrible, but not as fast as internal drives connected via SATA. Build quality is okay, but mostly just hollow plastic with no solid disc support, resulting in a lot of noise. Vibration discs are very noisy against plastic. I took some large rubber bands to wrap around the discs and base to keep vibration/noise to a minimum and it got better. The noise is quite noticeable, even when the drives say they have 0% activity they are very, very loud. in the dock. Absolutely worth it for the previous price!
