Lightweight, functional, loud

I have the 5 port option. Works right out of the box, put a couple of large drives in and they ran with no fuss. Drive-to-drive or computer-to-drive transfer speeds are as expected, not terrible, but not as fast as internal drives connected via SATA. Build quality is okay, but mostly just hollow plastic with no solid disc support, resulting in a lot of noise. Vibration discs are very noisy against plastic. I took some large rubber bands to wrap around the discs and base to keep vibration/noise…

I have purchased an ORICO SATA to USB 3.0 Flat Panel Docking Station which it appears will no longer be available, in addition to a docking station I already own from another brand . Use this to set up DVR/NVR? How to check if you have a failed device (cycle current problem)

I am using this hard drive to set up an NVR for video surveillance, the installation is in a remote Location. This caddy SHOULD remember its state after a power outage but mine doesn't and I see several other browsers having the same issue. It works fine for 3 months, then it just shuts off. DO NOT BUY!

Edited Added 4/13/2020 (6 months after purchase) - it now shuts down daily. All drives are removed from the computer because it just randomly shuts down, which is a HUGE problem for backups. DO NOT BUY! In the beginning everything went great! Easy to set up, plug and play, I was thrilled to have a smaller case on my desk. Do not buy! Ease of installation. Easily the worst docking station I've ever bought. I bought this product to replace 2 elcheapo 2 port docking stations that I bought for a specific project I was working on and repurposed it to use as a 40TB storage project.
