Review on Shun Classic 8-Inch Kiritsuke Kitchen Knife: Chef’s Knife with 68-Layer Stainless Damascus Steel Cladding, Handcrafted in Japan, Multi-Purpose Knife for Versatile Kitchen Tasks by Christine Chance

Great/fantastic blade for the price!

Shun is known for making quality knives. I was impressed with the company itself before deciding to purchase the Classic 8" Shun. The blade was packaged well. There is something to be admired about the simple and elegant appearance of the box. The blade itself is beautiful. It is not engraved It's Shun. It's really complex and forged. Even my wife comparing my western chef's knife could tell the difference. Another review mentioned that it breaks when you cut through a semi-frozen piece of chicken. The fact that this blade is very hard. This means that it is inherently fragile. Western chef's knives are not as hard, making them easier to handle. But they are not as sharp. Vegetables, meat, fruit, fish, this blade cuts through with ease. I'm just complaining it's a western style bend to swing the blade when cutting it doesn't mean anything just a traditional thing to me by all means Would make a great gift for someone or a great addition to any kitchen! Just beautiful.
