The true Shun. Great culinary investment

Authentic Shun made in Japan. Great knife at a very good price. The paper test is ready to use (see my video). Definitely not a knife to throw in the dishwasher as it is a valuable culinary tool. good balance Very happy with this purchase.

This thing is terribly sharp (and it's awesome)!

I expected this knife to be sharp, but this one takes the sharpness to a whole new level. I thought I used to have decent knives but I was wrong! Dripping through veggies like softened butter. Effortlessly slices beef with thin paper. Just great. The best knife (and knife set) I've ever had, hands down.

It scraped off easily and completely so I gave it anyway.

Bought this knife for my boyfriend for Christmas and he loves it! Even after 3 months of use, the blade remains as sharp as ever. I have a set of Wustof knives and they don't cut as easily as this one. The only complaint I have is that there was a gold logo on the side of the blade which started to wear off within a week. very sticky for something of this quality. It scratches easily and completely, so I still give it a full 5 stars. All in all, a great gift for anyone who loves to cook. Great…

Great knife - Cutlery and knife accessories

Excellent knife as one would expect from Shun. Bought as an upgrade/upgrade for my 8" Shun chef's knife which I have owned for over ten years. I work in a professional environment and have probably processed more food with this knife than most. a year later and it has held up very well. I back it up with a Shun steel honing rod and the blade is still perfect. The knife is beautifully finished and well balanced. The section that slides backwards also takes some getting used to, but I like it…

Great/fantastic blade for the price!

Shun is known for making quality knives. I was impressed with the company itself before deciding to purchase the Classic 8" Shun. The blade was packaged well. There is something to be admired about the simple and elegant appearance of the box. The blade itself is beautiful. It is not engraved It's Shun. It's really complex and forged. Even my wife comparing my western chef's knife could tell the difference. Another review mentioned that it breaks when you cut through a semi-frozen piece of…

Great knife: Chef's knife

I am a serious home cook with over 10 years of professional cooking experience. I have used many different knives and despite the fact that there are many very good brands, Shun has become my favorite. Now I have several different Shun Classic pieces. Everything exceeded my expectations. The 8" Classic Kiritsuke is my newest addition and probably my favorite. To begin with, no knife I've ever used is sharper than the Shun. Kiritsuke is extremely well balanced and comfortable to grip. The size…
