I have seen these given at clinics and physically therapy wards and serve specifically to prevent clots and other blockages. I can't attest to its medical benefits; but this NuVein surgical socks is clean in white, comes with open toes for less restriction and more comfort at the toes area, are comfortable yet compressive. These have a stretchy feel; the top of the socks has a 'tab' to hold the socks up. These are made to keep swelling to a minimum by helping circulation and better blood flow. Grab the right size and go from there; some have benefited and others mention nothing of the sort.
