This was a replacement for a similar collar that was chewed in half by a giant squirrel that killed my cat. I didn't like the elastic "stretch" - it's not needed if the collar is properly fitted, and luckily the cat didn't get out of her previous collar, although I made sure she could if needed. So I replaced the rubber strap, which looked cheap and flimsy and wouldn't last long, with the smallest chrome plated key ring I could find. The rest of the collar is fine. Not fantastic, but good enough.
