They are really bright and perfect for lighting patios or terraces. We've used string lights for Christmas lights in the past but the problem with them is that water can get in - they don't seal well despite being listed as indoor/outdoor. There are caps on the ends to keep them sealed and the bulbs screw into secure sockets. Two extra bulbs are included, which is very convenient. The wire is thick with a durable plastic coating to protect it from damage. I like the little holes you can use to attach them. They create a nice, warm atmosphere when lit and are bright enough to light up a room, although difficult to show in photos. We hung them around our 10x25 deck by our fish pond on poles with guy wires to hold them up. They are high quality enough to be used in any room I can think of, way better than most lamps I've tried and I have a feeling they will last. I think it's a great investment and plan to buy another pack for our other deck.
