This set had minor damage to the edges that was quickly repaired with a leveling stone. The grits also seemed a little rougher than they should be. This was also true after soaking. Here, too, the leveling stone solved this problem. Once I hit them with a leveling stone, this kit did a great job. The angle guide is a joke as there is no way to keep the blade where you want it. Although I've been sharpening on stone for 30 years and don't use angle guides, I wanted to see how it works for my review. The sling is excellent. I tied a paracord loop to the attachment end and slipped it under my leg, which gave me the tension I needed without having to secure it. The bamboo base is great. The rubber grips that match the stones are pretty good and fall off as expected. The smoothing stone, as I mentioned above, works well. Soak stones to achieve this. I plan to keep the other setting for fast work and use it for deeper sharpening. If you need a corner guide this is still a good set. Just recommend buying another corner guide.
