As mentioned, they are designed for large grips. I wanted to use this for a small household broom, the handle went right through, be aware it could be a 1/2" handle but it goes right through this holder. I tried putting it in a vise at an angle, heating the rubber to change its shape a bit, but all I did was separate the rubber from the metal. The holder was a bit tight didn't completely ruin it but I decided to put the broom inside out and the way this broom is made solved my problem. In the end it works fine for my application but it's for large diameter pens.
