Review on Zone Climbing Shoe by Black Diamond by James Nedumaran

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great entry level for advanced bouldering

Details: Black Diamond did a great job on this shoe and it shows. Attention to detail is excellent. Good mid-range shoes. More aggressive, but not extreme. Although the way the shoe's molded sole is made makes it a versatile shoe. So it copes well with protrusions and small chips when needed. The sole has a slight flex or will withstand a fall. However, there are thousands of different leg options, so choose wisely. As for me, I have a wider foot base, more natural volume for my foot, and proportional toe size. So my street shoe size 10.5 is a bit tight. I originally tried 10 but it was too low for my feet. Even allowing for a slight stretch in time, they wouldn't suit me in any way. The 10.5 was compressed, a bit painful of course, but bearable, but I want to climb longer routes with an overhang, so I chose 11 so I can wear it longer when training. They don't stretch too much because they're synthetic. Also, I live in California and when you go out in the heat your feet naturally swell a bit from the weather or the approach so they're perfect! That's my two cents. Have fun climbing!
