The brush broke after a few months probably because it was rubbing against the center console every time you closed it. It never fitted properly and became an eyesore in the back seat. You're lucky if you put two empty water bottles inside before emptying. When shopping for scrap cars, you may want to pay attention to what type of car you have and how it fits before making your final selection. For me it wasn't worth it and was less effective than carefully placing a few small garbage bags in the magazine compartment behind the front seat for the occasional cleaning.
