If you pull the rated voltage of 12 amps for more than 5 minutes, the device will turn off. If you draw 9 amps for more than 15 minutes, it will turn off. 8.25 amps is the maximum I could draw in the 20 minutes it took me to work. The estimate for this is misleading and will not be listed anywhere unless you go to their website and download the manual for the device. It should have been listed here on Amazon so I didn't have to waste time trying to get a refund. I have not disassembled the unit, but as far as I can tell this unit does not have a fan. Also be careful, it gets very hot during use. Spare block update: the same. Only this heats up to about 221 F before shutting down and only draws 7.6 amps. I would say the correct rating for this power supply would be 6 amps continuous and 8 amps pulsed.
