My 2005 Odyssey clocked 340,000 miles and still works. Like many others, the steel drain plug has stripped threads in the aluminum oil pan, likely at the hands of an aggressive technician on one of the quick-change joints. Most options are rather unattractive, especially on an older car. I got one of these a year ago. Easy to install (requires a little more effort than shown in the video) and ran fine for 30,000 miles but then oil started leaking around the magnet insert (not where the tapered bolt meets the oil pan). Thoroughly cleaned/checked all mating parts but the problem kept getting worse. I suspect that the small magnet near the core of the insert will lose its effectiveness over time. On a whim, I examined a 3/4 inch rare earth neodymium disc I had laying around. It was PERFECT (Model #07091HD, Online #202526387, Store #633808) when placed on an indoor surface. The cork is firmly drawn in and tightly closed. As a bonus, the face of the insert is now flush with the screw, making it easier to remove with pliers. I'll probably change the magnet washer periodically, much like you change the crush washer on a traditional oil plug.
