Review on 🔧 Dorman 03335 Hood Release Handle: Ideal for Chevrolet / GMC Models by James Thakur

I bought this to replace a broken hood release handle on my 2000 Chevy Silverado. It looks basically the same except the OEM part had a slot for the cable to go through. This turned out to be no problem as the cable went through, snapped into the hole with ease and fitted snugly into the handle. I used a #13 socket to remove the anchor nut that the washer attaches to. When I tried to reattach it, I found that the hole for the nut and washer wasn't as big as the one I removed. I had to file the disc to smooth it out on both sides to fit. Socket #13 was also stuck but was eventually leveled and the nut tightened. This unit will work and I only gave it 4 stars because I had to make minor changes. I think I've been looking for the perfect device but I'm very happy with how it works and the cost. The original lasted 17 years. I hope this one lasts just as long.
