My cat had a leg amputated and was no longer allowed to go out on its own. He hates being indoors so I started looking for different leashes. I deliberately chose this because of the ESCAPE PROOF feature advertised in the title and description. I took him outside and everything was fine for 5 minutes until he was startled by a passing car and pulled his leash to escape. Just a second pull and the plastic buckle on the collar came loose, he slipped through the strap at the center of his body and was gone. I tightened it and triple checked the buckles, everything was fine before we went outside! I tried to unhook it with my hands and here is the thing. If you try to take it apart it will stay in place. But if you twist it to a certain angle (that's the angle a frightened cat would pull to escape), it pops open instantly. I feel like it's too slick to withstand accidental opening. I hope my three legged cat comes back. Please be careful not to buy this if you intend to keep your pet. Shame on you who advertise like this!
