Protects your key fob from "accidental" activation when it is in a jacket or possibly trouser pocket. The only downside is that the case makes it a bit difficult to manually press the button. I don't actually have to press the buttons on the fob as just being near the car helps, but if I want to use the car's auto-start feature I have to press firmly with my fingernail to push the button.
