I bought this radio to replace an old Sony boombox I was using in my garage. Sony had a bad radio tuner. This allowed some strong local channels to seep through the dial/frequencies - very annoying. This little radio isolates radio stations very well (FM dial). Now I can select stations with a narrow frequency range and no leakage. It's compact and takes up less space on my desk than a Sony or typical boombox. The sound is acceptable for my garage use, but this is not a high fidelity unit. The sound tends to be a bit tinny and there is no tone control. The volume can be as loud as needed. The CD player handles all the CDs I've tried. All are bought; So I don't know if it can handle self cut/formatted discs. I found the controls a bit fiddly. Specifically the off/CD/FM/AM slide switch. Maybe they will decrease over time.
