We bought this for our daughter because she was learning how long minutes are. You can even set the timer yourself. My only complaint is that it doesn't ring half the time or sometimes rings for a split second every minute and then doesn't ring when the time is up. It's very durable, but I was under the impression that the mechanics inside are weak due to the inconsistency that it actually makes noise when the time is up. It's also a visual timer, so we can still use it, but if you want a sound when the time is up, choose a different timer.
