Although the bulb appeared intact when it arrived, it did not work when my HVAC technician installed it. Upon closer inspection, a loose white powder was found inside, although we couldn't see any obvious break in the filament. I asked him to order the part from a local supplier and when he came back with it the next day it worked perfectly. This lamp also turned out to be of better quality. So I guess you get what you pay for. In my case, the guy would have to come back with a replacement part for my humidifier, which I also asked him for so I wouldn't lose my return fee just because the bulb went out. But that's something to consider, unless of course you're a DIYer with enough experience to know how to change it yourself.
