I have only changed the oil once on our 2007 Audi A4 and this was the first time I have come across this filter configuration. That's pretty ridiculous compared to a typical spin-on filter. If you haven't performed this process on an Audi before, there is a dedicated way (or tool if you want to avoid the hassle) that requires you to first drain the oil filter housing (essentially unscrew the cap and push the valve until all oil flows from the filter housing) ). Then you need to remove the filter housing that contains this filter. The problem is that it's quite difficult to wipe all that old dirty oil out of the filter housing. And if you have an Audi B7 then you know that oil gets dirty very quickly. The filter quality seems really good, I also used a Mann cabin filter and it works very well. I would recommend this brand of filters for Audi owners.
