The first mistake *I* made was thinking I could just grab these by the back with my thumb as a shoe horn and my foot would be in! Not quite. To their credit, the lace isn't just for show and should be untied and then loosened around the perimeter which your foot enters, inclusive of the rear! It's one long lace and loosening it DID help, a lot although by the looks you may not realize it until you re-try putting your foot in.They do fit snug in the width IMO but because of the material they're made of they have already stretched a bit since yesterday which I was truly hoping for. If you have a more narrow foot, these will be ideal right out of the box. Fortunately they're so soft that the stretching process is painless. We're not trying to break in a new pair of steel toe boots here.As for the durability I just got them so I can't say how well they'll hold up.**The soles are a bit 'hard', almost plastic-like and don't feel as if they grip well on slippery surfaces well. That may be a temporary thing. Maybe they'll soften up as they wear a bit.I bought 2 pairs/different colors so expect to see this same review elsewhere. ;o)
