Review on ☕ Capresso 259 Water Kettle: Polished Chrome, Compact & Stylish by Monica Moore

This is our third teapot Capresso 259. It is the best teapot we have ever used which is why it gets five stars. The large heating bulb heats water fast enough for a 110 VAC kettle. The clear glass is very beautiful. The fact that you can wrap the power cord in the base is great. The automatic switch off is very nice. However, this is not ideal. The reason we had three of these is because the first died just before the 1 year stamp was replaced under warranty. Also, the plastic lid broke in two ways: one of the clips holding it closed broke off (this only slightly affected functionality, so we continued to use it for a couple of years after that) and a rounded domed lid with a small handle on top, separated from the bottom plastic of the lid (I managed to tape it back a couple of times so we reused it). Despite the seemingly cheap construction of this kettle's plastic parts, I still give it five stars because its concept is superior to anything else we've tried. For example, if Capresso wanted to make an all-metal model that was more robust in construction but still retained all of the features of that model, then that model would be downgraded to maybe three stars and a new fantasy model would replace its out of the five-star position.
