When it comes to something as thin as yarn, it's difficult to capture on camera. So until I find a better way to do this I'll just write this review until I can get some good photos for you. There are a few things about working with this thread that I can share with you so you can decide if that's what you want. I originally used it for hat yarn but it took me a while to figure out the best way to do it. HOW IT HAPPENED This comes in a roll. It can be used for machine sewing, hand sewing or in my case spinning wool yarn. HOW I TRYED TO USE IT I used this by combining this reflective thread with wool that I spun into yarn. This resulted in a strip running through the yarn to make yarn. Then when I knit it I can use the yarn again to knit the hat. This uses quite a bit of thread, so a spool will only work for a hat if I'm doing this. Another option I'd like to use (I've only made some yarn so far) is to sew snowflakes that are embroidered after the hat is knitted. This creates more reflection surface. I think I might just go ahead and try to spin all the hat yarn with reflective threads. DOES IT REFLECT? The filament does reflect, but to be honest I think the larger surface area allows for a more reflective filament to be seen from the machine. That's the purpose I want this for, so I'm still trying to figure out the best way to use this theme. I think the embroidery on the hat when finished (e.g. some threads to embroider) would be the best use. It does reflect, but for the car to be able to see it at night I think the more surface the better. I thought it could be woven into yarn or tied into a hat, and it is, but the embroidery or large surface area seems key to really being seen. MY RATING IS FOUR STARS. I wish there was some more thread on this bobbin to experiment with knitting. It's ok for embroidery though. The larger the area covered, the better it shows off compared to strands here and there.
