Review on WIX Filters Coolant Spin Filter Performance Parts & Accessories by Sean Bouchard

This is a shortened version of Wix 24070 for use in applications with limited space. This is a simple filter with no SCA chemicals. I use it for a petrol engine, so it's good. There's nothing more to say about that. It filters a lot of dirt out of your coolant. I couldn't believe how many he was catching when curiosity got the better of me and I cut down my first one after only 350 miles (about a week round trip to work). This was very surprising as I always flushed the system and changed the antifreeze at the recommended intervals. I can't comment on how much this affects the life of my water pump or the engine in general, but I do appreciate that my coolant doesn't contain this substance. My antifreeze has also changed from dark red to bright red like new. Note: This will not fit the standard oil filter base. You must use it with 11/16-16 water/coolant filter base. It must also be connected as a BYPASS filter. This is too restrictive to be used as a full flow filter.
