Review on Prima Marketing 584252 Watercolor Confections by Kristen Simpson

So horrible but I love her! Bought two sets!

Prima Marketing Classic Watercolors (Revain, $12) March 21, 2017 So awful. But I love her! , Graham, Maymery Blue, Winsor Newton and Daniel Smith. I would recommend that the artist choose a brand or select colors from professional paints and stick with it until all the nuances are learned. You need to know and understand your materials to get professional results. Zoltan Szabo gave me this advice many years ago when I attended one of his seminars and it has served me well! Don't worry about persistence, just play with them! After all, your paintings probably won't be hanging in the Louvre! Colors are dye based and full of fillers, so a metal palette will easily rub off. There is enough room in the color box to place another row of halves in the middle, making a set of 18 colors. Take some of your favorite colors from tropical or decadent cake sets to create your own base palette. The colors are light when applied but, like all watercolours, lighten slightly after application. The metal box is well constructed and has nicely rounded edges so you don't cut yourself. If you remove the tray while holding half the pot, you could cut yourself if you're not careful! I think if you need a warning then maybe you should be warned that brushes have pointed ends so you don't poke yourself in the eye! Detaching the tray gives access to 4 more mixing bins which is pretty awesome. The closed box measures 5" x 2 3/4" x 1" high, the open box measures 5" x 8 1/8" x 1". There is a finger ring at the bottom of the box to make it easier to hold in one hand. Some people complain too much about this little set. "Pots get lost and slip." Just use them a little and a little paint will dry around the bottom of each mold and they won't stick and slip. "Color stains the palette!" OCD is a pain, isn't it! Get over it and make the palette look like it's been used! I've seen beautiful paintings made with a palette of paper plates, twigs, and carbon paper. "The ugly sticker won't come off!" If you don't know how to remove the sticker, you shouldn't have a driver's license! "Color is bubbling on the palette!" Shorten a bit with the Brillo-Pad! Damn, people complain about a lot! Some artists are the most imaginative people I've ever known, unfortunately some are too dark. December 20, 2017. Holy Shmagoli! Since I bought them earlier this year, these little goomers are up 60% in price! I think Jeff Bezos has decided that a $100 billion net worth isn't enough! At this price these little goblins are just not worth the money! Now for the colors: #01 Opaque White, #02 Fuschia (Rosy Pink), add 06 Green for a yellow ochre, add 07 Teal for a lovely lavender, add 09 Violet for a cobalt red purple or Catman -Added purple which is great. for flowers. #03 dark red (scarlet?), #04 orange, 07 turquoise for a nice green, 08 blue for burnt umber, #05 cool yellow, some #12 black for a nice green, #06 green, a good base green to go with a wide range of greens can be transformed. #07 Teal (turquoise) mixed with #02 Fuschia gives a beautiful lavender color. .#08 Ultramarine Blue, #09 Violet, #10 Sepia?, #11 Gray, add 08 Ultra Blue for a bluish gray. Add 09 violet for lavender, #12 black,
