Review on Aketek Infrared Extender Receiver Repeater by Christine Williams

When I first got this I just installed it, my DVD player was in the closet and I was tired of leaving the door open when we were watching movies so we could still have the remote could use. The console sensor reader is finicky - the original placement of the sensor on the console only worked when I was directly in front of it, in a perfectly straight line and less than 2.5 feet away. that didn't work when I was sitting on the couch! I ended up attaching it to the front of my DVR's cable box and it seemed to work, now I can at least play/pause/ff etc while lying on the couch or straight on the line with a sensor or at an angle. I don't think this will work if you are more than 6ft away. So if you have a larger room I would look for a higher quality remote extension. I'm sure I'll be replacing this one within a year, so it would be better to spend a few bucks more now and get a better one first.
