What immediately strikes you about this product is the responsiveness of its customer service team. I had a few questions that I couldn't answer by reading the manual or watching the video and they answered them quickly. The build quality of the devices was top notch considering their price and you will definitely hear a siren sound if you have a problem. They're very noisy, which is a good thing. Luckily I haven't had any water issues yet, but I'm ready for it if I do. The interface with the Tuya app is pretty simple and perfect as I've already used it to control the lights in my house. The only issue I would like to suggest is that the user manual appears to have been written by someone whose native language is not English. Customer service told me they would look at it again. In addition, there are a few points to keep in mind regarding the product. First, it's not entirely battery powered. Although the WP17 has batteries, these are only for backup power. You must keep the device connected to the USB charger, otherwise you will have to change the batteries every day. It's not too much of a problem once you know what's going on, but the manual is a bit vague and the device doesn't have a built-in battery. This is important to know as the WP71 acts as a gateway to individual water sensors, communicating with them and then sending the data to the Tuya app. Without the gateway, you would still be notified of a water leak, but not through the app, only through the humidity sensor siren. If you're not home, you don't know. The WP71 itself is a motion detector, which is a nice feature but probably not what you need if, like mine, your main purpose of purchase was to detect water leaks. Since the WP71 has its own loud siren, you don't want it to turn on every time you turn off the horn. Luckily, if you're using it as a gateway for the water detection feature, the manual recommends that you use the WP71's motion detection feature to turn off the infrared beam and mute the siren, but this could be explained more clearly in the manual. I hope they take steps to explain this better in future additions to the guide.
