Xs bought for my 5lb Maltese and Yorkshire cats as extra protection. In my opinion, this is not a collar that attaches to a leash. Maybe just to hang her name, but no leash. Since my dogs are so small I have never used a collar to walk them, I only use a harness. I'll probably put her mark on it. Regardless of the size, I would not recommend using this collar for walking. You definitely want to walk your dog on a harness so he's sure he can't choke or escape on a defective or cheaply made collar. My sister in law's maltipoo was attacked by a pit bull and I don't know if it would make a difference but the pit bull did attack her face and neck (thank goodness she is recovering and doing well) but it really bothered me Frightened, so I want to add some protection to them. As long as they seem fine. I won't wear this when we're at home, but I plan to make it a habit to wear it when we go out. Seems to have worked well so far. The collar is stiff so I fasten it in a circle to give it a better shape. I'm glad it's for her.
