I don't know the reviews with torn collars. It's very thick and durable! I get lots of compliments when I walk my dog, she looks more expensive than she is worth! Excellent customer service! It's easy to return if the size doesn't fit or there are problems. I even got a few freebies with my purchase! Love it.

Bought this collar for a cat that kept getting stuck in its mouth. It does the job well, but it doesn't have much sizing because the holes are further apart than I'd like. I may also need to cut the end off or secure it somehow as it will stick out and the cat will attack it.

We have one of these on our 15 pound toy poodle and everyone just thinks it's the cutest thing. At first I made it so that at the dog park the much larger dogs couldn't get around his head and neck while playing. It's been very successful and hasn't hurt anyone - he's a lot happier. It's really wider than I thought for a small dog. We had to cut the end off about 2 inches for our toy dog. The spikes meet our expectations and the dog will get used to a stiffer collar. Xs bought for my 5lb Maltese and Yorkshire cats as extra protection. In my opinion, this is not a collar that attaches to a leash. Maybe just to hang her name, but no leash. Since my dogs are so small I have never used a collar to walk them, I only use a harness. I'll probably put her mark on it.
