Review on LandingZone Docking Station: Enhanced πŸ”Œ Connectivity for 15-inch MacBook Pro (2016-2019) by Brian Krump

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great product and the ONLY option for a traditional style dock.

Works EXACTLY as expected. I sold my 2015 Macbook Pro so I bought a horizontal hengedock although the hengedock worked well and was very reliable. There were a few minor issues, all of which were resolved with the LandingZone Dock at a much lower cost. Some notes: 1. I don't know why people call the device "fancy". The only oddity I encountered was that when I first added monitors there was a mouse lag that went away after a few minutes (not sure if it was driver install time) and never came back. 2. Same as installing the Macbook Pro in the docking station. I already knew it would take time to master. It took me about half an hour to figure out a simple and easy way to take it out and put it back in. I'll start with the left ports slightly in front of the connectors on the docking station and then slowly move them toward the connectors. until they line up and I push it in. After that, the right side snaps into place very easily as the left side is already aligned and seated.3. Remember that now that the horizontal hengedock has been discontinued, if you want a traditional style dock, there is literally NO OTHER option than this product.4. One of the downsides is the lack of support for the fastest TB ports. There is one port left open on the right side that must be used for high-speed port access. Luckily I didn't need that in my setup. Overall I would rate this as a great product apart from the fact that it feels a bit cheap. The hengedock was very bulky and couldn't be moved when the laptop was in place, I think with LandingZone it's best to apply glue or something to make it stick if you want that much strength (not a big deal at all) .
