Real crystal but not faceted. You get what you pay for.

I didn't like the look of these glasses when they arrived and thought maybe they sent me a fake but I did a little research and found out they are genuine Waterford crystal glasses. So I wanted to know what crystal is and why they don't look right? So. Crystal, by industry definition, is glass with a small amount of lead. But most crystals are shaped and then "cut" - the rounded edges are turned to make them sharper. These glasses don't cut. The edges remain round and even the seams are still visible. So it's real crystal, but you get what you pay for. I went to the Waterford website and they were selling a Marquis decanter and two glasses for $100. Other decanters that were clearly sculpted and carved started at $300 and grew quickly. It's the same with glasses. Despite everything, they look good. I bought them as a gift for my boyfriend and he loves them (he's not picky like me).

Pros
  • Wine glasses
Cons
  • Cord is shorter than other picks
