Useful form factor and good cells, but bad controller setup. Foldable panels are theoretically great, compact to carry and protect the panels when not in use. Monocrystalline elements are definitely better than polycrystalline elements on Togospower 60W panels. However, as with the Togospower panels, the controllers are questionable and should be enabled optionally rather than hardwired. Return and purchase of flexible standard panels without a controller. In theory, foldable panels are great, compact to carry and protect the panels when not in use. The big advantage of folding panels is their portability. This panel meets these requirements in contrast to standard glass or flexible panels. It is very good. Monocrystalline elements are definitely better than polycrystalline elements on Togospower 60W panels. I returned the previous panel as it didn't perform at full capacity under the Southern California sun. This one can reach him, but it's very unstable when he does. The controllers are questionable and should have been configured as optional rather than hardwired. Power plants like FlashFish already have a built-in charge controller. I would prefer to bypass the controller on that panel and connect directly to the station. The main issue I see is the inconsistent power delivery. I've seen wild swings in output power when measuring with current clamps. In absolutely perfect conditions, with no clouds or midday sun, it's sometimes stable at 2.9 amps. At other times he would fluctuate between 0 and 2.9 amps as if unable to come to his senses. At the end of the day, for whatever reason, it charges the power plant with at best 40 Wh for at least 3 hours of usable sunlight. Something is definitely wrong with him. To test the theory that it could be a controller, I bought a 50w Sunpower panel that doesn't have a controller. Connected the panel directly to the station and, as expected, no more wild fluctuations. I suspect that the controller is either of poor quality or doesn't get along well with the built-in station controller. Being able to bypass the controller would be ideal. Includes MC4 cable for cross-platform compatibility. I mean, I wish Sunpower would come in this form factor, but it just doesn't and I don't think they would. As a result: 1. Excellent form factor.2. Solid monocrystalline cells.3. Not working as rated.4. Suspicion of questionable controller and setting.
