I used the thermometer once. I held it and had it read the temperature of my food and suddenly the back detached and the battery popped out. The battery fell into the burner that was on so we had to quickly remove the burner and pull the battery out so it burned through the glove and my house smelled like burnt rubber for an hour. Would not recommend this product. I've never experienced the back of an item accidentally bouncing and the battery falling out. It's so dangerous when you cook.
