Review on TEROW Portable Max Width High Speed Compatible by Darth Calder

I'm giving four stars instead of two because it's so cheap and works with Raspberry Pi. A few things to note: 1. It will NOT run on 12VDC as advertised. Requires AC power. Even the sticker on the device says "DC 12V Input", but there is only AC 120V input. 2. It was easy to get it working on Linux on my Raspberry Pi Zero, but there is no manufacturer guide for it. But all you have to do is install CUPS, then install the adafruit "zj-58" cup filter, and then configure the printer manually through the CUPS web interface. I was printing grainy black and white images in minutes.3. I was hoping to use it as an externally powered, battery-powered portable printer, but it was definitely designed to plug into an outlet next to a cash register. I gave it five stars for warmth and thickness because it sounds like a blanket to the folks who designed this site. But this is a printer, NOT a blanket. ATTENTION TO THE BUYER! Anyone expecting a duvet because the product description says "Thermo" will be disappointed. Receipt paper isn't actually very warm or very thick, and this printer only contains one roll. I bought this expecting it wouldn't work at all with the Raspberry Pi, but figured it was cheap enough to justify the risk. I was pleasantly surprised at how easy it was to set up. I definitely wouldn't pay more than what I paid for it, but I might buy a few more as this is the cheapest and easiest way to add a receipt printer to a Raspberry Pi that plugs into somewhere. Although I have used the word "cup" several times in my review, I must clarify that THIS IS NOT A COFFEE MACHINE! This is a printer. However, it would be a nice addition to a cafe.
