A friend persuaded me to start with Atmel ICE. I really want to buy or build another cable for my stand, but in general ICE works great. I'm having some trouble trying to use the Arduino boards with ICE, but I understand that I need to de-Arduino-ize the Arduino boards. This is only part of the learning curve.
- Supports all built-in hardware breakpoints in target microcontroller (number depends on OCD module in target)
