I feel like I wasted my money on this. When you open the bucket, there is a pleasant smell. But he is very weak. I tried using a pod and didn't smell it at all. Then two. Then I tried a half load of laundry with 3 bins! So! 3 PROTECT!. And also. Nothing. I don't mean right after washing (and no, I didn't use a dryer sheet), I mean even if it's mid-cycle and you go and come back and you can smell the laundry. And the smell fills the house. no None of that. I can not say. I think if you want something that doesn't smell at all then this is for you. As for the cleanliness of clothes? I haven't seen any evidence that it's better than plain water.
